The Anchored Girls Leadership Program is designed to cultivate the confidence, skills, and civic awareness young people need to thrive and to positively impact our city. At its core, the initiative helps participants develop a strong sense of self, connect meaningfully with peers, and understand their power to contribute to the wellbeing of their communities.
First, we focus on Confidence and Presence, creating opportunities for participants to strengthen their public speaking abilities and express themselves more clearly and authentically. This emphasis on communication helps youth build the self-assurance needed to engage in academic, professional, and community settings.
Second, we guide participants in developing essential Leadership and Communication skills. Through collaborative activities and team-based challenges, they practice taking initiative, working effectively with others, and understanding the responsibilities that come with leadership. These experiences help them build competencies that will serve them throughout their lives.
Another core objective is Goal Clarity and Future Orientation. Participants learn to articulate their personal aspirations and gain a stronger belief in their own agency. By understanding how their goals connect to their choices and actions, they are better equipped to pursue meaningful pathways and envision bright futures.
We also prioritize Social-Emotional Wellness and Sisterhood, fostering an environment where youth feel seen, supported, and connected. Through intentional reflection and relationship-building, they deepen emotional awareness, learn healthy coping strategies, and experience a sense of belonging that strengthens confidence and resilience.
Finally, the program emphasizes Civic Engagement and Service Leadership. Participants take part in structured service projects that allow them to contribute directly to the community. Through these hands-on experiences, they build empathy, develop pride in their city, and begin to see themselves as active stakeholders in their neighborhoods and beyond.
Monthly Program Breakdown
Our 5‑month journey is intentionally designed to help your daughter grow in confidence, leadership, cultural pride, and personal responsibility—all within a supportive community of peers and mentors. Each month offers a unique theme, hands‑on experiences, and moments for families to celebrate progress. Your engagement is not only welcomed, but essential in helping participants achieve the very best outcomes.
January – Vision & Goal Clarity
We begin the year by helping each participant paint a vivid picture of who they are becoming. Through activities like vision boards, personal mission statements, and goal‑setting workshops, your daughter will develop a clear sense of direction. Parents are encouraged to support this process at home by discussing dreams, values, and shared expectations for success.
February – Confidence, Etiquette & Presence
This month focuses on building the social and interpersonal skills that help young women thrive. Participants practice public speaking, poise, posture, and modern etiquette—skills that prepare them for interviews, leadership roles, and social environments. Parents will notice increased maturity and confidence as girls begin applying what they learn. February also includes a special Galentine’s celebration with the “Sisters” group (ages 10–13), reinforcing positive friendships and community bonds.
March – Leadership, Sisterhood & Cultural Identity
During March, we deepen leadership development through teamwork activities, collaboration exercises, and lessons on cultural identity. Participants explore who they are, where they come from, and how they can lead with purpose. Families play a vital role by affirming cultural pride, modeling leadership at home, and encouraging girls to step into new responsibilities.
April – Service, Creative Expression & Wellness
April is all about giving back and growing from within. Participants complete meaningful community service projects—allowing them to experience the joy and pride that come from making a difference. They also engage in creative expression workshops and emotional‑wellness sessions that teach positive coping skills, self‑care, and stress management. Parents are invited to join or support service activities to reinforce the value of community engagement.
May – Cotillion / Debutante Ball
The program culminates in a beautiful Cotillion and Debutante Ball, where participants demonstrate everything, they’ve learned. From formal presentation and group choreography to leadership recognition moments, this celebration honors each young woman’s discipline, growth, and transformation. Family participation is essential—and this event becomes a cherished milestone for everyone involved.
