Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. In Columbus and the surrounding cities of Ohio, JLU initiated and sponsored a memorable Mother’s Day with African Immigrant Women. JLU believes immigrant mothers go above and beyond to balance complex multi-cultural challenges. Bringing women together to share challenges and seek common solutions led to an engaging, and worthwhile discussion.
While the demands and challenges of raising children in a multi-cultural are overwhelming, it is essential to stay connected with other women, develop meaningful support systems, for thriving community.
We also noted that women mothers deserve to be celebrated daily, mothers deserve love and respect form their partners, mothers also deserve to raise children in safe and stable environments. We therefore encourage zero tolerance for abuse.
Together, we can empower survivors, raise awareness, and create a safer world. Your support is invaluable to us—reach out today and be a part of the change.
